Where to Access Seedance 2.0: Every Channel & Region (2026)

Where to get access to Seedance 2.0, as of July 31, 2026: six channels are operated by ByteDance itself — the Dreamina web app, the Dreamina mobile app, the CapCut tool page, the China-domestic Jimeng AI and Xiao Yunque sites, and the BytePlus ModelArk API — and everything else is a third-party platform that resells or aggregates the model. The largest of those third parties is Runway, whose own product page states that “Seedance 2.0 is available worldwide on Runway.” The free path for international users runs through Dreamina, which advertises free daily credits; Runway gates the model behind paid plans.

That distinction — official channel versus resale channel — is the one almost no other page draws, and it is why the “do I need a VPN for Seedance 2.0” question keeps circling. Below is the full matrix of channel, official status, stated region availability and payment, every claim read off the channel’s own pages on 2026-07-31 (data checked 2026-07-31). Where to Get Access to Seedance 2.0: The Full Channel Matrix

Every cell reflects what the channel itself published as of 2026-07-31, except where the cell says otherwise. “Official” means operated by ByteDance or a ByteDance group entity. “Not stated” means we found no availability statement — not that the channel is unrestricted.

Three reads from that table:

1. Dreamina is the free entry point built for international users. Its homepage on 2026-07-31 stated, verbatim, “Dreamina provides free daily credits for generating images and videos, so you can start creating right away with no upfront payment.” Its Seedance 2.0 model page is narrower, offering free trial credits to eligible users during early access. A second, China-side free path — Xiao Yunque — is documented in our Seedance pricing review.
2. Runway is the biggest non-ByteDance channel and it is not a clone. It ships a product page titled “Seedance 2.0 on Runway | AI Video Generation” — a branded integration, materially different from an aggregator listing a model slug with no vendor relationship stated.
3. Nothing in the official channels’ own text describes a China-only restriction. That claim has a traceable origin, covered below.

The Six Official Channels

Dreamina (web) — the default answer

Dreamina at dreamina.capcut.com is ByteDance’s international consumer front end. On 2026-07-31 its page title read “Dreamina: Free AI Video & Image Generator Powered by Multiple Models” and its ten-entry model list included, verbatim: “Dreamina Seedance 2.5”, “Dreamina Seedance 2.0”, “Dreamina Seedance 2.0 Mini”, “Sora 2” and “Veo 3.1”. Sign-in is required before the creation tools open. The model’s own page at dreamina.capcut.com/tools/seedance-2-0 is narrower than the homepage: it states “Dreamina Seedance 2.0 currently offers free trial credits for eligible users” and that “VIP users may gain early access to advanced features”. A site-wide daily allowance is not a guarantee that this specific model is free on every account.

The corporate facts matter here because they are the cleanest evidence against the China-only story. The Dreamina Privacy Policy states the service is “provided and controlled by Bytedance Pte. Ltd. with its registered address at 1 Raffles Quay, #26-10, South Tower, Singapore 048583”, and it carries supplemental jurisdiction-specific terms for Australia, Brazil, Canada, the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the UK, Indonesia, Mexico, the Philippines, South Korea, and Vietnam — plus a pointer to a separate Dreamina US Privacy Policy. A platform does not publish an EEA supplement and a Korean age threshold for a market it does not serve.

One regularly missed clause is not about geography. The Dreamina Terms of Service state: “Our Services are generally provided for private, non-commercial use.” If your plan is client work, read that clause against your subscription tier first. Age eligibility also varies by market, and the real numbers sit in the Terms’ jurisdiction sections rather than its general clause. The general clause states “The Services are only intended for individuals 13 years old and older”; the Indonesia section requires that “you are at least 21 years of age or married or not under guardianship”, Vietnam sets 18, South Korea addresses users over 14 but under 19 with guardian consent, Japan requires guardian consent under 20, and Brazil requires guardian assistance from 16 to under 18 and guardian agreement to the Terms under 16. Read your own market’s section (all read 2026-07-31).

Dreamina (mobile app) — same account, smaller surface

The official mobile app is listed as “Dreamina AI: Image&Video Maker” with Bytedance Pte. Ltd. as publisher, on both the App Store and Google Play (Android package com.lemon.dreamina), read 2026-07-31. Its listing describes a “Cast” feature powered by Dreamina Seedance 2.0. App availability is decided per storefront, so the app can be missing in a market where the web app loads fine — check your own storefront, not a third-party list.

One caution on this surface: a store search for “Seedance” also returns listings whose Android package IDs are not ByteDance’s — seedance.ai.video.generator.editor and com.codee.ai.klinn among them. We did not evaluate those apps and make no claim about them beyond the publisher field.

CapCut’s tool page — the editor-side door to the same stack

www.capcut.com/tools/dreamina-seedance-2-0 loaded on 2026-07-31 titled “Dreamina Seedance 2.0 AI Video Generator | Create High-Quality Videos with CapCut”, naming Dreamina Seedance 2.0 Mini for text-to-video and image-to-video and offering a free sign-up path. It publishes no region statement or plan terms. It is official on the same basis as Dreamina: the clause pages served on capcut.com name Bytedance Pte. Ltd. as controller.

Jimeng AI and Xiao Yunque — the China-domestic siblings, not a better Dreamina

jimeng.jianying.com loaded on 2026-07-31 under the title “即梦AI - 即刻造梦”, advertising 文生图 (text-to-image), 视频生成 (video generation) and 智能画布 (intelligent canvas), with 深圳市脸萌科技有限公司 (Shenzhen) named as operator in the footer alongside ICP filing 粤ICP备13065114号-22. The same operator and filing appear on xyq.jianying.com and jianying.com, whose footer publishes a @bytedance.com business contact — that on-page chain, not an assumption, is why we mark these official.

xyq.jianying.com is the second domestic front end: it loaded on 2026-07-31 as “小云雀AI 一起创作好故事” and describes itself as the industry’s first Seedance 2.0 短剧 (short-drama) agent. It published no pricing or free-allowance statement that day; our Seedance pricing review documents a free tier on this channel.

Two honest limits: neither homepage stated sign-up requirements, and Jimeng’s named no Seedance version, so we are not asserting which tier or account type each exposes. With a domestic ByteDance account these are the front ends you land on; without one, Dreamina is the channel built for you.

BytePlus ModelArk — the API, and the widest published footprint

ModelArk is ByteDance’s enterprise cloud model service and the only official channel with an explicit, dated availability document. The page “International Availability for BytePlus Model Service”, last updated April 21, 2026, lists eligible countries and territories individually rather than publishing any aggregate figure — our count of that list on 2026-07-31 was 195 entries — and applies it “with the exception of Restricted Models”. It adds a caveat worth quoting exactly: “The availability of BytePlus Model Service in any given country/region shall be determined at the point of purchase.”

That is the broadest official reach, with a business-account requirement and usage billing. The Seedance model IDs live there — dreamina-seedance-2-0-260128 and its Fast and Mini siblings — documented in our Seedance API guide from a 2026-07-23 read. One transparency note: the ModelArk docs render client-side and our automated fetches on 2026-07-31 returned navigation only, so that model-ID table remains the 07-23 read rather than a same-day one.

The Third-Party Channels, and What Kind of Thing Each One Is

The point here is narrow: establish whether a channel is official, a branded integration, an aggregator, or a resale layer. We do not itemise anyone’s credit accounting — those tables go stale within weeks, and the numbers to plan around are in our pricing review.

Runway — third party, branded integration. Its Seedance page states “Seedance 2.0 is available on all paid and Enterprise plans”, “Seedance 2.0 is available worldwide on Runway”, “Individual generations can be up to 15 seconds long”, and “You can use text prompts, reference images, video clips, audio clips or any combination of these.” Its pricing page lists Free at $0/month and paid tiers from Standard at $12/month billed annually (regular $15) up to Max at $76, plus Enterprise on request, with Seedance 2.0 Pro and Seedance 2.0 Fast in the paid-tier comparison charts. If your query was some version of “runway how to use seedance”: it is there, it is worldwide, and it is behind any paid tier.

CyberLink PowerDirector — third party, inside a desktop editor. Its features page lists, verbatim, “Choose from Veo 3.1, Sora 2, Kling 3.0, Seedance, GPT Image 2, Flux and more for Text to Image, Text to Video, Image to Video…” under an “AI Model Lab” section. It does not specify a Seedance version, so treat the entry as “a Seedance model” rather than confirmed 2.0.

WaveSpeedAI — independent inference provider. Its introduce page read, verbatim, on 2026-07-31: “One platform, 1000+ AI models. Generate images, videos, audio, and 3D content through a unified API.” Its catalogue carries slugs including bytedance/seedance-2.0/text-to-video, /image-to-video and /video-edit, plus seedance-2.0-fast/*, seedance-2.0-mini/* and seedance-v1.5-pro/* — naming the upstream provider in the slug.

Higgsfield — third-party aggregator. Its homepage on 2026-07-31 carried a “Seedance 2.0” section with the line “Create high-quality videos in seconds”, plus “NOW IN 4K” and “ALREADY AVAILABLE ON HIGGSFIELD”. Its pricing page returned navigation only to our fetch, so we cannot state its plan terms.

Pollo AI — third-party aggregator, and the one we could not read directly: pollo.ai returned HTTP 403 to our automated fetch on 2026-07-31, so the following comes from its own indexed pages rather than a same-day crawl. It publishes per-model pages for Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Mini, Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 1.5 Pro, and offers new users limited free credits. For comparing Seedance against Veo, Kling and Luma without opening four accounts, Pollo AI has the widest Seedance version coverage we found — with the usual aggregator trade-off of a markup and someone else’s uptime. We do not link it: all three of our escalating attempts to reach the site that day — a direct request, a headless browser, then a stealth browser — ended on a Cloudflare challenge page rather than the site, so there is no destination we verified well enough to send you to. Everything above about Pollo AI comes from its indexed pages, not from the site.

GlobalGPT (glbgpt.com) — aggregator. Self-described on-page as “a multi-model AI aggregation platform launched in 2023 by Future Share LLC” providing “access to 100+ AI models through a single subscription”, listing “Seedance 2.0” and “Seedance 2.0 Fast”. Neither “Dreamina” nor “ByteDance” appears on that page — the model is listed without its upstream.

Tryonr — third-party vertical tool. Titled “Tryonr - AI Product Photography | Virtual Try-On Studio”, it lists Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Mini and Seedance 2.5 in its video models section alongside Kling, Hailuo, Gemini Omni and Grok, with “Access to all supported AI video tools” attached to certain tiers.

GamsGo — not a Seedance channel. It resells discounted subscriptions — “100+ premium AI, streaming and gaming subscriptions at up to 85% off” — and mentioned no Seedance, Dreamina or CapCut on its homepage on 2026-07-31. It surfaces on Seedance searches because it discounts AI services generally.

The VPN Question: What the Region Facts Actually Are

seedance 2.0 vpn is a high-volume query, and the honest answer corrects its premise rather than answering it.

Where the “China-only” belief comes from. It traces to one still-indexed source. CyberLink’s Seedance blog post — titled “How to Use Seedance 2.0 in the US : Free Trial, Tutorial & Alternative”, last updated Apr. 28, 2026 — states: “The Seedance 2.0 model is currently in limited beta testing and can be accessed on ByteDance’s Jimeng AI (China) and Dreamina AI (International) platforms.” It adds: “However, access is restricted to users in Mainland China and requires a paid subscription”, and separately, “Please note that Seedance 2.0 is currently available only in Chinese. The interface and features do not yet support other languages.”

Seedance 2.0 did have a China-first rollout after its February 8, 2026 launch, so this is stale copy rather than invention — but it is stale in a way that misleads today, and it is the raw material AI answer engines reassemble into “you need a VPN”. Three checks from 2026-07-31 contradict it:

• Dreamina’s own homepage served an English interface listing “Dreamina Seedance 2.0” and stating that free daily credits are provided — which contradicts both “Chinese only” and “requires a paid subscription”.
• Dreamina’s operator is Bytedance Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), with 9 privacy-policy supplements covering 11 non-China jurisdictions, 10 jurisdiction sections in the Terms of Service (including Japan and Thailand), and a separate US privacy policy.
• Runway states plainly: “Seedance 2.0 is available worldwide on Runway.”

Note also that CyberLink’s own product page lists Seedance inside PowerDirector’s AI Model Lab — so that publisher’s product surface and its blog surface disagree. When two pages on one domain conflict, discount the one untouched for three months.

What the platforms’ terms actually say about availability. These are the operative sentences, quoted rather than summarised:

• Dreamina Terms of Service, Section 1: “The Services, in full or in part, may not be available in all jurisdictions, for all devices or in all languages.”
• BytePlus, International Availability for BytePlus Model Service (updated April 21, 2026): an individually itemised country list — 195 entries on our 2026-07-31 count, with no aggregate figure on the page — applying “with the exception of Restricted Models”; and “The availability of BytePlus Model Service in any given country/region shall be determined at the point of purchase.”
• Runway, Seedance product page: “Seedance 2.0 is available worldwide on Runway.”
• Dreamina Seedance 2.5 launch page (dreamina.capcut.com/resource/seedance-2-5-launch, page date Jul 31, 2026, read 2026-08-03): “Dreamina Seedance 2.5 will start rolling out in the coming week for subscriber accounts belonging to people over 16 years old across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America.”

That last line is the only region list ByteDance has published for Seedance 2.5, and it is narrower than the 2.0 picture above: four named regions, a subscriber account, and an age floor of over 16, with rollout phased from “the coming week” as announced on July 31, 2026. North America is not among the four regions named — ByteDance did not write that North America is excluded, only that it is not on the list, and we have not tested access from any region. Everything else in this section concerns Seedance 2.0, whose channel-by-channel footprint is documented above.

We read the Dreamina Terms of Service in full on 2026-07-31 and found no clause naming VPNs or proxies. That is a fact about the document, with an obvious corollary: the absence of a named clause is not a grant of permission, and the availability language above means an entry point that loads today may not load from another market tomorrow.

What this page does not cover. This page documents which channels exist, who operates them, what each states about its own regional footprint, and what the terms say. It does not cover changing or masking your apparent location, and contains no instructions of that kind. If a channel is not offered where you are, the move within the documented options is a different channel: BytePlus publishes the widest footprint of the official six, and Runway states worldwide availability among the third parties.

Which Channel Fits Which Reader

A decision guide, downstream of the matrix above rather than new claims.

Seedance 2.5: Where the Access Story Stands

Because “access” questions increasingly mean 2.5, here is the channel state as of 2026-08-08 — the Runway and API lines re-checked that day, the Dreamina line last checked 2026-08-01 — kept to what each page says. ByteDance officially launched Seedance 2.5 on July 31, 2026 — the launch post is dated Jul 31, 2026 on the Seed blog index at seed.bytedance.com/en/blog, with same-day TechNode coverage.

• Dreamina: the official Seedance 2.5 product page carries the banner “New model LIVE: Dreamina Seedance 2.5 is now available” (checked 2026-08-01), replacing the “coming soon” wording it showed through July 31. A live banner is not proof of availability on every account — and ByteDance publishes the conditions on a separate page. Its Dreamina launch page at dreamina.capcut.com/resource/seedance-2-5-launch (page date Jul 31, 2026; read by us on 2026-08-03) states, verbatim: “Dreamina Seedance 2.5 will start rolling out in the coming week for subscriber accounts belonging to people over 16 years old across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America.” So the published conditions are a subscriber account, an age of over 16, and one of those four named regions, with a phased rollout that, as announced on July 31, 2026, was to begin “in the coming week”. North America is not among the four regions that page names — ByteDance did not write that North America is excluded, only that it is not on the list — and we have not verified availability on any account.

• Jimeng AI and Doubao: TechNode reported on July 31, 2026 that the model “is being rolled out to Jimeng AI and the Pro version of Doubao”. Both are China-domestic surfaces; we have not verified reachability from outside China.
• Runway: shipped. Runway’s API changelog entry dated August 7, 2026 states, verbatim: “Seedance 2.5 (seedance2_5) is now available via the Runway API.” The same entry documents text, image or video input to video output with optional generated audio, durations of 4–30 seconds, 480p or 720p output, and credit pricing of 30 credits per second at 720p and 20 credits per second at 480p (read 2026-08-08). That supersedes the “Seedance 2.5 | Coming Soon to Runway” page title we read on 2026-07-31. Runway is still a third party rather than a ByteDance surface, and its 720p ceiling sits below the 4K Dreamina advertises on the consumer side.
• Third parties: Tryonr and Pollo AI both publish Seedance 2.5 entries — the Tryonr entry read from its own page, the Pollo AI one from that site’s indexed pages, since the site itself blocked us on 2026-07-31.
• API: two tracks, at different stages. Third party — Runway’s API changelog opened seedance2_5 on 2026-08-07 (above), so a callable Seedance 2.5 API exists today. First party — on our 2026-08-08 check the BytePlus model catalog at ai.byteplus.com/en/model carries a “Dreamina Seedance 2.5” card (“Longer storytelling, richer references”, stamped “Updated Aug 7, 2026”) and the ModelArk documentation navigation lists a “Dreamina Seedance 2.5 tutorial” at docs.byteplus.com/en/docs/ModelArk/2607688, both new since our 2026-08-01 check; but both render client-side and returned no model ID string to our fetch, so we cannot publish a first-party model ID yet. TechNode’s July 31, 2026 report says an API is “expected to arrive soon” on Volcano Engine’s Ark platform, the China-side cloud. How to Tell an Official Channel From a Resale Layer

Three checks, none of which requires trusting an article — including this one.

1. Read the operating entity in the terms or privacy policy. Dreamina’s names Bytedance Pte. Ltd., Singapore; GlobalGPT’s names Future Share LLC. Neither is disqualifying — knowing who you contracted with is what matters when a charge needs disputing.
2. Check the publisher field, not the app name. On app stores the official Dreamina listing shows Bytedance Pte. Ltd. as publisher.
3. See whether the upstream provider is named. WaveSpeedAI prefixes its catalogue slugs with bytedance/. GlobalGPT lists “Seedance 2.0” without mentioning ByteDance or Dreamina anywhere on the page.

The Short Version

As of July 31, 2026: six official channels for the Seedance 2.0 family (Dreamina web, Dreamina app, the CapCut tool page, Jimeng AI and Xiao Yunque for the domestic market, BytePlus ModelArk for the API), one large branded third-party integration (Runway — stated worldwide, paid tiers only), and a tail of aggregators whose value is breadth across models rather than anything Seedance-specific. Seedance 2.5 launched on July 31, 2026 and its access path widened in the first week of August: live on the Dreamina product page (checked 2026-08-01), rolling out to Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro per TechNode’s same-day report, callable through the Runway API since 2026-08-07 as seedance2_5 at 480p or 720p, and now present as a Dreamina Seedance 2.5 card in the BytePlus catalog stamped “Updated Aug 7, 2026” — though BytePlus published no model ID we could read on 2026-08-08. The free entry point for international users is Dreamina. The widest published footprint is BytePlus, whose itemised list ran to 195 entries on our count. And the China-only premise behind most VPN searches is April-2026 copy the official pages no longer support.
